Apps store apart from any body's notice has been tremendously successful. Such a huge sucess that wasn't expected by apple itself.
In august apps store hit 1000000 apps on the apps store and in the august Steve jobs declared a billion download milestone
So What is that which has made apps store a huge success which has now started to pour more than $90 million a day into apple's pocket.
Consistently throughout the history apple has kept a closed system on all it's products form iMac to Ipad.
What I call now is the transition "a change" in a way things were produced and marketed by giving the power to many or to ordinary i would say it has grown big(the app store),although some of it's marks are currently still controlled by apple by it's SDK but this is a giant leap out
1)Win- Win scenerio:Since apple came up with ipod and then the iphone apple has been completely controlling it's market and products in a closed System. Suddenly apple catapulting it's revenue to millions just in the apps store indicates that apple has taken a bold brave new step in the way it comes up with it's products.
Apple strictly used to focus on it's profit margin traditionally eating up 70% profit by burdening the consumers.
But now it has opened up a platform for people all over the world to come up with their product and let them get the maximum profit by providing them with SDK. We certainly know SDK but what we are here to notice is the transition apple has dared to take, a company dominated by strict production line and market costs in a closed system of operation it has moved to transferring the design to the third party developers world wide
2)SDK: Apps at the appstore are truly amazing.It's interface just tempts the users to buy them and making them feel incomplete without them.This is all due to the smooth SDK which allows users to create those seamless apps that completely entertain you and run seamlessly on ipad and ipod touch. And buying one makes you buy the other (Window shopping)
3)Quick response time: Apps respond quickly to the tap commands made by their users and become ready to use any time the user wants
The most amazing thing about apple product is no matter how costly they are always worth the money...Quality in other words
4)Marketing: Apple through it's heavy branding has sucessfully marketed all of it's products and this goes to the apps store even. Many of free apps available on the apps store that user can download.Also the average price of apps have declined in the month of August given the rise of $0.99 apps, and probably that the ratio of free-to-paid apps has grown, but that’s why the daily sales angle is an interesting one to look at. No matter what ratios changed, there are also a ton more apps being downloaded — both paid and free — than there were in the first 30 days. And so if anything, this $1 million a day sales mark is probably low compared to what it’s at now.
